About the Show
First of all we apologize to anyone who got a flood of RSS links from us. Our RSS was broken and we only found out today, the resulting fix may have just flooded you reader. MASSIVE SORRY!!
Marc and I don't have the longest attention spans, at most we can concentrate for 30mins at a time. For some people that is ridiculous but we embrace it and have worked out how to work with it. Because of the long hours we have been putting in over the last 2 or 3 weeks we have had one or two days when the brain has just switched off, yesterday was one of those days.
I would say that we got about 2 or 3 hours of work done during the day time because we just couldn't concentrate. The reason we managed to get those things done, despite being unapproachable, was because we focused on trying to complete the small things. We didn't approach any of the big tasks and we didn't even pretend to try.
So even though yesterday was a proverbial waste, we still cleared up a lot of the stuff we would have needed to do in any case. Basically we tied up the loose ends.
So today's message is a simple one, instead of just giving up on the bad days just focus on the small things which only take 5mins to do. That way you can lose focus on 'proper' work but still get things done.
On the subject of embracing who you are watch this video from Gary Vaynerchuk: Execute on your DNA

Hey Guys, Totally agree with you... I see, to get more done when working in spurts... I use this by picking sections of my tasks and completing them for example.
If I am working on a design, I break it up into sections... Like working on the footer, sidebar, header etc. when I have talked that I will stop grab some coffee if need be, maybe a snack, pay some attention to twitter, check sports news... never for more than about 10 min... Same thing with code... I break it up into sections.
Granted each situation is different, and if I am on a roll I usually just stay at it as to not lose my momentum.
Great thoughts on productivity... you gotta find what works for you

HAHAHA - I love dancing in my chair too. But Marc pulls out the fancy moves on his feet. Kind of reminds me of this clip from "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wMoPSsn2-8
Also, thanks for the link to the Gary V video. I'm a big fan of being true to myself and knowing who I am well enough to know what works best for me. You guys are doing that. I fell I'm doing it. And that's what this whole community is about.

So true. Work can even be done off computer. The best ideas I've had for my website projects have come to me during times while not in front of the computer. But then again, I am a constant analyzer of things and always trying to come up with something that might set me apart from the rest of the bunch.
So, brainstorm about things non common is my solution. :)
Thanks!
