About the Show

Everyone is already writing off Massa as a credible title challenger for next year. I say that they are wrong, he will be just as quick next and will continue to surprise his doubters.

Hello David. just watched your Massa is not dead video and would like to highlight an important comment you made in the video. You said Massa is not as talented as Hamilton but is a hard worker. That tells me as much as you defend the guy and justify all his worth, deep down you are thinking like all of your friends that he is no superstar. If you say names like Senna, Prost, Fangio, Alonso, Hamilton and Schumacher no one will argue with you. As soon as you bring up names like Massa, Button, Fisichela, Barichello you will always get the negative argument coming back at you simply because they are not superstars. They will have some good results as Massa had this year but on average these drivers are just good and not great. One can argue for hours and make endless references to results and circumstance but the bottom line is that he is not on the same level of Hamilton, Alonso and Vettel. We often argue about Alonsos character but I never argue about his ability as a driver. If anything I often compliment his driving although I do not like him as a person and do not support him. Massa is the so called nice guy but I will always argue his driving ability as it is good but not supreme. Lastly I truly believe the whole Ferrari organisation and team was 100% behind Massa this year making him look better than what he really is and this is why Kimi looked so bad this year (qualifiying on heavy fuel loads more often than not) hence the arguement that Massa will not be so great next year if Ferrari give the drivers equal chance in Ferrari next year (speculation as we will never really know what the Teams are up to most of the time). Ciao Claudio

Am I not correct in saying that you need the whole team behind you if you want to win a world championship though? Look at Alonso and Hamilton last year, the team couldnt focus and they lost the champs because of it. This year they focused 100% on Hamilton and they won.

Just like you say in your response, Massa had Ferrari 100% behind him, I agree, but what is wrong with that? The point is with Ferrari 100% behind him he produced the goods, he never lost because he was an average driver. He lost because of reliability.

Next year the Ferrari drivers will have equal chance again and it will be again down to the drivers and again Massa will surprise everyone. Why? Because now he has momentum and he has confidence in himself and the people around him. Just like Hamilton, Alonso and even Shumi.

I hear you David. I think at the end of the day it comes down to you are a Massa supporter and believe in his abilities for various reasons as you have justified. On the other hand I am not a Massa supporter for reasons like he has taken way to long to get to this level within the team and even longer within F1. Once again we can debate details forever but the fact remains that guys like Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel can be categorized in the category of brilliant, amazing, special but Massa is just another good driver when everything goes his way and in the rain he is pathetic. Sorry dude I hear you once again and there is some merit but I think this year was his best year and from now on he is going to go backwards and not farwards.

Morning David And Claudio. You see the thing is, all of this is very much useless banter, as Massa wont really matter next year, neither will Raikonnen or Hamilton. It all comes down to a small Spanish man named Alonso. WATCH THIS SPACE
