About the Show

David takes you through the steps of designing the new OBOX Design logo.

Included is everything from the very first drawing done in Jan 2008, the site he bought the font from, to refining and communicating about the re-design.

We want to know your thoughts! Do you like it? Is it too simple? Too cartoony? Please let us know.

I think it's pretty cool, got a retro design feel to it. I'm not sure how well it works with the header of the obox-design website though..

@Chris - Thanks for the comments, as for the website... dont worry we are aware of it. At the moment the current OBOX site is a temp while we complete the proper one.

@Liam - Thanks mate, we are a bit worried about the current look of the new site though. Although... we are 100% confident that we can evolve it into something much better in the future! But besides that, we are super chuffed that you like it.

I am excited about the new logo and I love the 'archives' section.

I actually love the logo, sort of has a classic feel to it. I don't know about the pink/blue color scheme on the current site. I really liked the simple blacks, greys and whites you had originally in this video. - But that is just me.

Other than that It was a pretty cool video. I finally realize how difficult design can be.

Good luck guys.

Definitely into the logo, and as 1 of the people who though it looked like an X, I certainly think you have sorted that out!!

I am also liking the new website, especially the subtle WANF and FtC influences, my only point would be the spaceship at the top looks at little forced in, whilst the rest just seems to 'fit'.

I like the way you went about changing and customising the font, i think it looks pretty cool, subtle changes can make all the difference.

Isnt this the same font that Goldfish uses? The rounded O's look so familiar/ similar! Hot font, Loving it!

@Jason - Thanks Jason, yeah the Archives section was BADLY needed. I am so relieved to have that out now, people are hanging around on the site for longer with it implemented.

@Dave - Thanks man, your response on twitter was vital to improving the logo design!

@Max & @Mokokomoa - It is all about the attention to detail. It is a mission but, once you get it right, it can be quite satisfying!

@Talya - Haha, maybe it is? But I know that their font is quite different in many different area's.
