Marc and David explain why they think that designing e-commerce sites with a light colour scheme is more condusive to generating sales.
Using a dark colour scheme is like walking into a shop which is badly lit, it's not a welcoming enviroment which is why they are also on a mission to redesign and launch a new look for Obox.

Black and white both have there place in web design. As well as the aesthetic and psychological choices you have to consider other factors. For example, do you understand the environmental impact of a darker colour scheme. If your target audience are still using CRT monitors then displaying black uses very little energy. It's all about WordPress themes at the Obox HQ this week.
David gives you a sneak peak of 'Selecta' - a new theme the Perel brothers have been working on of late. He also highlights one of the issues with CSS3.

Nice post guys, I have found myself doing this as well over the last few months, although I've not upgraded to digital TV yet so stuck with the 5 terrestrial channels served up in the UK! This can mean inspiration is a bit thin sometimes! As for taking it further, this is a very valid point and the need cannot be stressed enough. If you see something you like and just transplant it into your page, that's not inspiration, that's just plain copying. Which is just plain daft. When sta...
